Acne occurs most commonly during adolescence and often continues into adulthood. In adolescence, acne is usually caused by an increase in male sex hormones, which people of both genders accrue during puberty. For most people, acne diminishes over time and tends to disappear or at the very least decrease after one reaches one’s early twenties. There is, however, no way to predict how long it will take to disappear entirely, and some individuals will carry this condition well into their thirties, forties, and beyond.
Aside from scarring, the main effects of acne are psychological, such as reduced self-esteem and according to at least one study, depression or suicide. Acne usually appears during adolescence when people already tend to be most socially insecure. Early and aggressive treatment is therefore advocated by some to lessen the overall impact to individuals.
The young people who attend me suffering from acne always have misalignment of the upper cervical vertebrae. One of the symptoms of this which can be checked at home is soreness at the back of the neck where it meets the scull when a firm pressure is applied. There may be a stiffness in the neck but there may be little or no back pain.
I have found the misalignment of the vertebrae causes many disorders in the head and acne is one of them.
Some of the other symptoms caused by misalignment of the upper cervical vertebrae are; Migraine and other Headaches, Sinus, Anxiety, Stress, Vertigo, Tinnitus and Neuralgia. It can affect any of the senses, cause bad temper, ADHD and the list goes on.
I believe the misaligned vertebrae reduces the flow of fluids through the veins from the head causing pressure to build up inside the cranial vault. This pressure interferes with the function of the cranial nerves leading to the disorders.
I use Spinology, CranioSacral Therapy and massage to correct the misalignment of these vertebrae. This allows the pressure to be released, the nerves are able to function correctly and the body is then able to heal these disorders in almost all cases. It usually requires a few therapy sessions for the body to clear all the symptoms / disorders but there is usually an improvement after the first visit
There is a school of thought that many disorders of the whole body can be resolved by working on the upper cervical vertebrae only. I believe it to be an extremely important area but I work on all areas of the spine.
The main concept of Spinology is to have your spine checked regularly as part of your health care program. It really does make sense to correct the misalignments before you get back pain or some of the many other symptoms of misalignment of the vertebrae.
